Welcome!

Thanks for dropping by my little corner of the Intertubes. This site is mainly for housing my professional information, especially as it relates to the Semantic Web. I want to keep it low maintenance but have it double as a repository for my publications and such.

For the past several years, I've been actively involved in the development of semantic technologies. I find the field fascinating and exciting, anticipating strong growth out of research and into industry. I'm always glad to see mainstream articles in this area, even if I don't quite feel comfortable with the Web 3.0 moniker (is it really necessary? Or widely believed?) I'm just another software developer evangelizing what I believe is a truly open, extensible, flexible set of technologies for enabling data sharing anywhere and everywhere.

At Progeny Systems, I'm investigating reusable service-oriented architectures (SOA), semantic SOAs and the application of these frameworks across the company. While Progeny is very adept at system integration and architecture work, their foray into SOAs is relatively new. Exciting times indeed, especially researching and implementing semantic technologies into SOA for various DoD customers (in the works by other companies as well).

Please pardon the headshot. My last company had a series of these taken and I felt obliged to use one of them somewhere - my wife certainly doesn't want them. Yes, thank you, I realize GQ won't be calling ... ever. You play with the cards you're dealt.
